The Board of Directors may only give Active-Probationary Membership or Active-Junior Membership and may not any other type of membership. Should the Board of Directors reject an application for membership, the applicant shall be prohibited from applying for membership for the next twelve (12) months following the vote of rejection. The Board of Directors shall conduct interviews of the applicant, and then determine whether to grant or deny Junior or Probationary Membership. The Chief shall conduct a background check for arson convictions and for sexual offenses mandated by New York State.į. The Board of Directors shall conduct the interview process and shall examine the applicant's qualifications for membership.Į. If rejected by the Board of Fire Commissioners the board of directors will send a rejection letter explaining the reason for rejection.ĭ. If Applicant is not a resident of Rotterdam Fire District 2 the application will be submitted to the Chief for residency review by the Board of Fire Commissioners. Objections must be submitted to the Board of Directors within 30 days of the posting of the application in order to be considered by the Board.Ĭ. Objections to any application may be submitted, in writing, by an Active Member to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors shall post the applicant's application on the Company Bulletin Board, where it shall remain until the next company meeting. The Board of Directors shall maintain a record of all applicants. All applications are to be read at the next Company meeting and immediately submitted to the board of directors.ī. All applications for Active Membership in the Company must be submitted on a form provided by the Company, which is signed and dated by the applicant.
